Adapter for using aftermarket metal catalytic converters for Nissan RB or SR engines on a Mitsubishi GTO turbo (excluding catalytic converters for Nissan NEO6 engine vehicles)
The angle of the Nissan flange is matched to the Mitsubishi flange angle. When the adapter is attached, the length is equivalent to the original GTO catalytic converter.
If using a metal catalytic converter, the holes are mostly elongated, so the adapter can be attached to either the front or rear. If using the original catalytic converter, the mounting pitch will likely match better if the adapter is attached to the front, as the muffler side should also have elongated holes.
If you use a genuine Nissan catalytic converter, it will be slightly tilted because it's oval-shaped (the front and rear flanges on the Nissan side are tilted, and since it's oval-shaped, it will be tilted when aligned with the GTO muffler. If you use a cylindrical type aftermarket catalytic converter, the tilt is not an issue).
For a new one, I recommend the GP Sports metal catalytic converter sold on Yahoo! Auctions. With a weekend coupon, it's around 45,000 yen, and you can find even cheaper used ones.
For the GTO catalytic converter, I recommend storing it for protection and only installing it for vehicle inspections. Otherwise, you can either use a catalytic converter without a filter, or if you don't like the smell, you can use one of the many available Nissan catalytic converters or an aftermarket Nissan catalytic converter.
