Privacy Policy
JDMBidder is muFreight LLC’s proxy-purchasing service for Japanese auctions. We collect what running that service requires, we tell you below exactly what that is, and we do not sell your information to anyone. Last updated August 31, 2026.
What we collect
Account details. Your email address and a password (stored only as a one-way hash). If you add them: your name, mobile and landline numbers, and the address we need before you can bid — because someone has to receive what you win.
Orders and bids. The items you bid on, watch, buy, and what we charged — the working record of the service itself.
Payment details. Card and PayPal payments are handled by Stripe and PayPal. We never see or store your full card number; we keep the references those processors give us (for example the last four digits, and a token that lets us charge the payment method you chose for an order).
What we use it for
Running your orders: bidding on your behalf, charging what you approved, moving your items from Japan to your pickup location, and telling you what is happening along the way. We also keep records the law requires and the ones needed to prevent fraud and abuse.
Text messages (SMS)
If you give us your mobile number and tick a text-message box — on the sign-up form or on your Account page — we send you service updates about your own activity: outbid alerts, auction results, and shipping milestones such as your item reaching our warehouse, sailing from Japan, arriving in the U.S., and being ready for pickup. Message frequency varies with your activity — a busy auction week means more messages, a quiet one means none.
Consent is never assumed. The boxes are unticked until you tick them, and we record when and where you did. Message and data rates may apply.
Stopping is one word. Reply STOP to any message and texts end immediately; reply HELP for help, or email [email protected]. You can also switch texts off, entirely or by category, on your Account page at any time. Stopping texts never affects your orders.
Your mobile number is never sold, rented, or shared with third parties for their marketing. Text messaging originator opt-in data and consent are not shared with any third party, except the messaging provider that delivers the texts on our behalf.
Account email — verification codes, password resets, receipts for money movements — is always sent; the service cannot work without it. Everything else (bidding and shipping updates by email) is opt-in on your Account page, and every such email is about your own orders. We do not send marketing blasts.
Who sees your information
The people and systems that move your order: our staff and the vendor operating your chosen pickup location (who see what they need to hand you your item), Stripe and PayPal for payments, Amazon Web Services where our systems run, our messaging provider for texts we send you, and Yahoo! Auctions Japan, which sees the bids we place on your behalf — placed under our own account, not your name. We disclose information beyond this only if the law requires it.
Keeping and deleting
We keep order and payment records for as long as bookkeeping and tax law require. If you ask us to close your account ([email protected]), we deactivate it and remove what we are not required to keep; the order history behind completed transactions stays, because it is also our financial record.
Choices, always
Your Account page is the control panel: edit your details, choose which updates reach you and how, or switch a channel off entirely. For anything it does not cover, write to [email protected].
Changes
If this policy changes in a way that matters, we will say so on this page and update the date at the top. Continuing to use the service after a change means the new version applies.
