Terms of Service

JDMBidder, operated by muFreight LLC, buys items from Japanese auction and shopping sites on your instruction and ships them to a pickup location you choose. Using the service means agreeing to the terms below. Last updated August 31, 2026.

The service

You tell us the most you are willing to pay; we bid on Yahoo! Auctions Japan on your behalf, under our own Japanese account. A bid is an instruction, not a guarantee — auctions can be lost, extended, withdrawn by the seller, or removed by Yahoo, and we are not responsible for a seller’s descriptions, photographs, or the condition of what they sell. What the listing says is what you are bidding on.

Money

You only pay if you win. Placing an auction bid reserves the approved amount on your payment method as a hold; it is captured only when you win, and released when you do not. Fixed-price purchases are charged when you buy. The full fee schedule is on the Fees page, and the calculator shows you every cost before you commit.

The second charge is the ocean freight. When your item reaches our warehouse in Japan it is measured, and the freight for its size — plus any part of a winning bid that exceeded the original hold — is charged to the payment method your first payment used, before the item ships. Exchange rates are applied at the time of each charge.

Shipping and pickup

Items travel by sea in consolidated containers on the schedule published on the site, and ocean transit takes weeks — the schedule’s dates are estimates, not promises. Once an item is ready at your chosen pickup location we will tell you; please collect it within 30 days. We are not a long-term warehouse, and after repeated notice an uncollected item may incur storage charges or be treated as abandoned.

Your account

Keep your password to yourself; what happens under your sign-in is yours. Give us accurate details — bids are real commitments of real money, and an address or phone number that is wrong breaks the parts of the service that depend on reaching you. We may suspend an account used fraudulently, abusively, or to buy things the law does not allow to be exported from Japan or imported into the United States.

Text-message updates

If you opt in — by ticking the text-message box at sign-up or on your Account page — we send SMS updates about your own bids and shipments. Consent is never a condition of using the service, message frequency varies with your activity, and message and data rates may apply. Reply STOP to any message to end texts, or HELP for help; you can also change or withdraw your choices on your Account page at any time. Mobile numbers and opt-in records are never sold or shared with third parties for marketing. Full details are in the Privacy Policy.

Liability

We carry out your instructions with care, but the service is provided as-is: we are not liable for a seller’s misdescriptions, auction outcomes, carrier delays, customs decisions, or events outside our control. Our total liability for any order is capped at the fees you paid us for that order — the item price and pass-through costs went to the seller and the carriers, not to us.
